Music Off Main – BrickHouse
BrickHouse is performing in one of the Music Off Main events on June 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. BrickHouse performs an incredible variety of hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and today, combining tight harmonies, a solid rhythm section and blazing instrumentalists to create a powerful, exciting and entertaining ensemble.
The concert will be held on the back lawn of the Garner Performing Arts Center. Brink chairs and blankets, but no coolers are allowed.
Community Family Fun Day
Fellowship Baptist Church is hosting a Community Family Fun Day on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be free refreshments served, as well as games, face painting, and a balloon twister.

July 3rd Celebration Volunteers Needed
The Town of Garner’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking volunteers for Garner’s annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3 at Lake Benson Park.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist town staff in a variety of ways to help make the event successful including arts and crafts, games, balloons, setup/cleanup and more.

1st Upward Soccer Camp

Prevent Blindness NC will be there using the retinal camera for eye screenings. The retinal camera takes images of the eye, and those images will be read by eye doctors. They will contact those having the screenings later to give them their results. This procedure can detect glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc.

Calling Service Minded People
The Garner Lions Club is expanding! Our club is looking for individuals who are interested in getting involved with their community and helping people in need. The Garner Lions club has helped over 20 individuals in the local area with assistance in getting an eye exam and getting glasses over the last year. We had a BBQ chicken fundraiser in late winter to raise funds to help local citizens in need. Our main goal is to assist those who are visually impaired. We help provide help for Camp Dogwood, a camp specialized for those who are visually impaired. Troop 397 meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary Mother of Church in Garner (1008 Vandora Springs Road).
