Local school sets date for “Chairs of Hope” fundraiser
This month Vandora Springs Elementary will be hosting its 7th annual “Chairs of Hope” silent auction. It will be held Thursday, April 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Vandora’s cafeteria. Each year the school, led by art teacher Jim Hunt, paints donated and refurbished wooden chairs to sell in a fundraiser for Relay For Life.   On March 29 deputies with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at 1308 Field Stream Farm Road near Garner. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found two victims dead in what officials believe to be a murder-suicide.
