The Town of Garner has announced Joseph and Margaret Maxwell of 478 Waterville St. in the Eagle Ridge subdivision as the July 2011 Residential Property Yard of the Month Award winners. Tripps restaurant, located at 1428 Garner Station Blvd., was named the Commercial Property of the Month Award winner.

Garner Mayor Ronnie Williams and Neighborhood Improvement Manager Reginald Buie presented the awards to the winners earlier this month. The Town is proud to support the continued efforts of the Properties of the Month Award winners as they work to maintain their well-designed and beautifully landscaped properties.

These award winners are making the effort to improve the appearance of their property and are adding to the overall appearance of the entire community. Buie developed and implemented the Residential and Commercial Property Improvement Program to preserve and enhance the value of residential and commercial properties in Garner.

Each month spring through fall, Town staff determine a winner in both residential and business/commercial property categories using a point system and predetermined criteria.
