Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1329 Hwy 70 W, Garner, will fill with music Jan. 20. The church will host a must-see concert in support of World Vision.

Christian musical group Downhere will be wowing audiences that night. The group, which has been performing together for 10 years, plays rock and pop music with smooth driving melodies and beautiful arrangements. The group has been nominated for and won several Christian music awards. The group has hits that include “Here I am,” Let me Rediscover you,” “Rest,” “Better Way” and “My Last Amen.”

During the concert this Friday, Downhere will be singing their popular songs and some of their older songs as well.

However, they will not be the only group entertaining the audience that night. Local band Singlestreet will kick off the night and Sean Kilpatrick will help sing a song he wrote as the opening song.

Event officials are selling gold tickets for this event. If you purchase a gold ticket you will receive dinner and have the opportunity to interact with the band. Dinner will include salad, salmon/chicken preference, rice and beverage. The cost of the gold ticket is $40, and general admission at $15. For those who pay at the door, the price for the night of the event will be $20. All proceeds made from the concert will go back to the church and support World Vision. The gold ticket dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., the doors open at 6 p.m. and the first act will begin at 7 p.m. Downhere will perform at 7:30 p.m.

“This will be a great show, I have seen them four times, and they are awesome in concert,” John Willingham, an event organizer said. “I have been around music my whole life and these guys are professional and talented singers and musicians; they interact with the crowd, tell background of songs, talk about their faith in God and love for Jesus.”

Willingham encourages people to come out and participate in this event.

“Come out and support great and talented young men who have dedicated themselves to the work of Jesus Christ and His mission through music and song, with all that is wrong in the world today and with all the filthy lyric music that is out, they are a breath of fresh air, and you will very much enjoy this concert!”

Tickets can be purchased online at itickets with credit card and printed off, by going to Downhere’s website, downhere.com, or by contacting John Willingham locally at 919-649-2028.
