The Garner Police Department responded to a hit-and-run collision on the 200 block of Weston Road at 1 a.m. on March 5. Alejandro Lopez Ramos reported that he was on a bicycle traveling north on the shoulder of the north-bound lane when he was struck from behind. Lopez Ramos sustained serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

The Police Department is seeking information on the identity of the driver, and the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle at this time. Analysis of the evidence suggests the suspect vehicle will be damaged at the passenger side mirror in addition to the front right corner. Pieces of the suspect vehicle have been examined and determined to come from the mirror housing.

Vehicle parts recovered by the investigating officer were painted burgandy, suggesting the entire vehicle may be burgandy as well. Identifying numbers from parts at the scene are being used in an attempt to narrow the make and model of the vehicle. Results of the investigation so far suggest the parts may be from an early 2000s model Buick Regal or Century.

Persons with information on this incident should contact Detective Grant Davis at 919-772-8810.

Suspect Vehicle:
