Garner Assistant Town Manager Rodney Dickerson last month completed an intensive weeklong leadership program designed for top local government management.
The course – the Senior Executive Institute’s Leadership Institute – is sponsored by the International City/County Management Association and the University of Virginia. It is offered in conjunction with the Senior Executive Institute of the University of Virginia and held at the university’s Darden School of Business annually in late spring. The program is limited to 21 senior executives per year.
The curriculum is designed by faculty at U.Va.’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service. A major goal of the program is for participants to experience executive leadership in a multigenerational learning community.
Dickerson has worked for the Town of Garner for more than 11 years. He became assistant town manager in 2004.
