John “Jack” B. Schultz
John “Jack” B. Schultz was born November 23, 1933 to Bernard and Florence Schultz of Glenolden, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Arthur. Jack died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. He will be fondly remembered by Helen, his wife of 52 years, his five children and their spouses: John and Kathy Schultz, Joseph and Betty Jean Schultz, James and Tracy Schultz, Mary and John Seward and, Suzanne and Trampas Stern. The pride and joy of Jack’s life were his thirteen grandchildren. Jack graduated from St. Joseph’s College, Philadelphia in 1955. He began his professional career as an engineer at RCA in Camden, NJ. His pioneering work on transistor radios resulted in twenty US patents. In 1970, Jack left RCA to pursue entrepreneurial businesses for the next twenty years. After his retirement to North Carolina, Jack found kindred spirits and a circle of wonderful friends in the local Experimental Aircraft Association Chapters 506 and 1114. Visitation was held on September 12 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Saint Mary, Mother of the Church, 1008 Vandora Springs Road, in Garner. Mass followed at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Mary’s or to your favorite charity.
