Get out and vote

Dear Editor,

This is the “off year” for elections. History shows us that only three percent of registered voters will try to make a difference. The rest stay home. We participated in a presidential election. That’s more important than 72 percent of our taxes and our kids? We must make time to vote. Don’t whine about how bad things are, let’s change it! We have an opportunity to bring a fresh look to our school board. We need someone that understands changes can be made without throwing wasted dollars into a money pit. We need someone more interested in working with families than pushing diversity for statistics. We need someone who will challenge the present curriculum and demand changes that will improve our dropout rate. We need someone that understands the school should educate students and the parents are responsible for their self esteem. We will have to vote twice, once for the school board and again for the municipals. PLEASE VOTE FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD ON OCT 6. Do not count on a run-off and only vote once on Nov. 3. This is a disservice to ALL the school board candidates and shirking your responsibility as a voter.
