Arrests
Brenda Higgins Yates, 59, of Raleigh, was charged with larceny from Wal-Mart on Oct. 27. Yates allegedly shoplifted food items, valued at $7.79.
John Brandon Arrington, 17, of Garner, was served with a contempt of court violation on Oct. 28.
Muhammad Ali Aleen, 20, was charged with larceny from a motor vehicle and burglary on Oct. 29.
Thefts
Police are continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred on Oct. 27 in the parking lot area at Westchester Apartments. The suspect allegedly used a handgun to rob a victim of his wallet and cell phone.
The owner of a 2002 Ford reported license plates were stolen off the vehicle while parked at a residence on Rolling Ridge Circle on Oct. 28.
Numerous items were stolen from a 2002 Ford pickup truck that was in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Oct. 28. The owner reported that someone took a weed eater, edger and leaf blower, valued at $1,000.
The investigation of a burglary at a residence on Cason Street on Oct. 29 is ongoing. The victim reported that a suspect entered the unoccupied dwelling by forcing their way in through a rear door and removed cash and a Playstation 2. A window was also damaged.
Police responded to a robbery that occurred on Sycamore Road on Oct. 29. A white hat with a skull, valued at $30, was the target of the strong-arm crime. The case is under further investigation.
Fraud, in the amount of $41, was reported by Wal-Mart on Oct. 29. The case is under further investigation.
Other crimes
An assault case at McDonald's on Hwy. 70 was investigated by police on Oct. 27.
Police responded to an assault that occurred at Garner Magnet High School on Oct. 27. The case was closed.
A 1988 was the target of vandalism at a residence on Bainbridge Road on Oct. 28.
Two vehicles were reported damaged while parked at a residence on Aversboro Road on Oct. 28.
An arrest was made in the vandalism.
