The Garner Veterans Memorial Committee held a design competition for North Carolina Architects to design a Veterans Memorial for Garner, North Carolina. Twenty-three firms throughout North Carolina registered for the competition. Judging for the Memorial competition took place on Saturday, Oct. 24. After many hours studying and evaluating each submittal the jurors selected the following:

▪ First Place - Clearscapes, PA

▪ Second Place - Skinner Lamm & Highsmith

▪ Third Place - ms consultants, inc.

The Garner Veterans Memorial Committee will award prize money for the first, second, and third place winners of the competition at the Garner Town Council meeting on Nov. 17, 2009. The first place winner of the competition Clearscapes, PA design solution is on display in the Garner Chamber Office Building, located at 401 Circle Drive, Garner, N.C.
