The North Carolina Zoo, an exotic environment that North Garner Middle School seventh grade, track three attended on Nov. 16, 2009. We had a very interesting experience with each other and the animals of Africa, but the seventh grade could not have had a more enjoyable day without the help from our sponsors, volunteers and teachers. Zebras, elephants, giraffes and gorillas are a few of the many animals that we saw along the two to three mile path through the zoo. The animals couldn’t have enjoyed our company if we didn’t have help from the hard work from our community around us.

Our grade and track had a fundraiser to help contribute to the expenses of our trip. Mr. Tom Jones and Mr. Raulynaitis helped host and sponsor our car wash. Our team raised more than $400, thanks to the great sponsors we had. All the money helped us bring down the cost, and allow everyone the opportunity to get to the Zoo. We had a great time washing cars and spending time with our friends. It was worth the time and work we all put into it.

Our four wonderful teachers couldn’t keep their crazy kids all in line without help of our volunteers. We need to thank the parents and other adults that also helped the make this trip possible for us. Thank you, Manuel Martinez, Megan Lyles, Andrew Raulynaitis, Melissa Burgess, Joanie Smothers, Audrey Harty, Heather Braymeyer, and Tera Shepard. Amy Young, Melanie Williams, Yushica Johnson, Tersea Rogers, and Brad Spear. Tammie Bass, James Queen, Chris Aldridge and Melissa Pittman. Every single one of you was a great chaperone.

So here’s to all the teachers, volunteers and adults that made this the best field trip that North Garner has ever attended; Thank You. We would also like to thank our very considerate sponsors: James Elwood Jr. CPA, Victor E. Bell Jr. and Jane McNair Bell Family Foundation, Ascot Enterprises Inc. DBA At the Beach and F. and D. Huebner. Also the Nizen Family, Jones Insurance Agency and Tom Jones Pharmacy. We can easily say that the track three, seventh grade had the most amazing team to put this together. Last but not least we all want to thank, Mrs. Lyles, Mr. Lee, Mrs. Griggs, and Ms. Timmel for being the best teachers North Garner has ever seen. We appreciate all your work.
