Things are popping over in Cub Scout Pack 33, with popcorn fundraising sales of over $21,000 this year. Although just shy of last year’s sales, Pack 33 still achieved the highest sales in their council. And within the Pack were two salesmen who went above and beyond their expected sales.

Ryan Dunn and Preston Renfrow were recognized at the Nov. 24 Pack meeting, where they also received other prizes, including camping equipment. In addition, the boys will receive scholarships for college.

Several of the Scouts will also be honored at the Blue and Gold Banquet in February with the Arrow of Light, which is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. This year, there are seven boys in Pack 33 who have earned the honor. Ryan Dunn, Garrett Bleeker, Alexander Johnson, Justin Holland, Jared Wilson, Keith Gales and Colin Mosley will each be receiving the Arrow of Light in February. Pack 33 is composed of around 155 Scouts from Cleveland, Garner, Clayton, Smithfield and other surrounding areas.

The Pack also plans around 10 community services projects each year, as well as camp-outs throughout the year. They also participate in the Cleveland Fourth of July parade and the Clayton Christmas Parade, which will be held Saturday, Dec. 12 in downtown Clayton.
