Garner Police initially responded to a 911 call of a suspicious person in the apartment. According to witnesses, Mr. Henderson entered apartment, pointed a gun at the victim, Erron Walker, and demanded money. Mr. Walker complied with Mr. Henderson's demands and gave the suspect money. Officer Sonny Roberson and his K-9 Bear responded to the 911 call and located Mr. Henderson in the Forest Hills Shopping Center parking lot. Mr. Henderson ran when he saw Officer Roberson, who then released K-9 Bear to assist with taking the suspect in custody. Mr. Henderson threw down the gun, causing it to discharge, and then surrendered. He was not bitten by the K-9. The gun and stolen money were recovered, and Mr. Henderson was transported to the Wake County Jail.
