Jesse W. Evans, 88, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Bythan Ross Evans and Martha Allen Evans. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, he was a retired partner with Jones Supply Company. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 18 at Hayes Chapel Christian Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nannie Rae Evans; daughter, Jacquelyn Moss and husband, Dwight of Raleigh; son Wayne Evans and wife, Debbie of Owensboro, KY; sister, Mattie Bangs and brother, Robert Evans both of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Jeremy Moss and wife, Marie of Garner, Randy Moss and wife, Rachel of Clayton, Laura Hutton and husband, Evin of Canton, MI, Joshua Evans and wife, Kristi of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Tyler Duncan, David Duncan and wife, Elaine, Jackson and Eli Moss, Kaleb and Ethan Moss, Gabe and Gracie Hutton, Peyton and Chace Evans. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lisa M. Duncan. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 17 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner.
