Starting on Feb. 1, you will be able to download new and popular audio books directly to your home computer. You will then be able to transfer most of these titles to CD or to a portable device, such as an iPod. All you need is a library card and an Internet-connected computer!
How many downloadable audio titles will you offer?
We’re starting our collection with about 600 titles and will be adding to these titles as time goes on. We will have audio books for the whole family - about 300 of these titles are for children and teens.
Will you have books by my favorite authors?
We hope so! We will be offering some of the newest and most popular books in downloadable audio format! Looking for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or The Help? The Hunger Games or Twilight? True Compass or The Lost Symbol? We’ve got them!
Will I be able to download audio books on my Mac computer?
Yes! We will have a collection of MP3 audio books that will play on a Mac computer.
Can I download audio books from the library computers?
No. You will be able to browse our Downloadable Media Library from the library’s PCs, but you will only be able to download books on your home computer or laptop.
How many downloadable audio books will I be able to check out at one time?
You can check out five downloadable audio books at a time.
How long will I be able to keep my downloaded titles?
You will have the option of choosing your own check out period of either 7 or 14 days.
How will I return these titles?
You won’t have to do anything to return them! At the end of your check out period, the books will automatically be returned to the library’s website for others to check out. You won’t need to worry about late fees or lost books with this service!
