Gross achieves Eagle Scout ranking

Brooks Gross received his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Award on Feb. 21, 2010 during a ceremony held at Holland’s United Methodist Church, Raleigh. Brooks, 18, led the construction of five large picnic tables for Holland’s United Methodist Church where he is an active member, going on mission trips, serving as an usher, a member of the choir and a member of the United Methodist Men.

Brooks began his scouting career at Cub Scout Pack 226 in Wilmington, NC before joining Cub Scout Pack 320 in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. At age 11, Brooks “bridged” over to Boy Scout Troop 320 that meets at Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church. Brooks is a 2009 honors graduate of Middle Creek High School, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Brooks received the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Award after his senior season.

Brooks is currently attending Wake Technical Community College with the goal of transferring to a university to major in biochemistry.
