Contributed Photos The Brownie Girl Scouts of Troop 1859 participated in their fourth year of service projects. For the Daisy Girl Scouts of Troop 579, the event was their first time working in the community.
The Brownie and Daisy Girl Scouts of Troops 1859 and 579 gathered at the South Garner Park Apr. 17 to help out with the Clean Sweep around town.

In honor of Earth Day, the girls pitched in to help make Garner a more beautiful place to be. The project was the first of its kind for the Daisies. However, the Brownies have done several clean sweep events in town and at their schools.

Their troop leaders, Carin Pittman and Sandy Parrish, were very happy to see the eight girls participating in the event.
