Alexander “Alex” Patrick Black, 19, the beloved son of Norman and Chantal Black, of Garner, was born on St. Patrick’s Day 1991, in Lawton, Oklahoma and was tragically taken from his family on May 4, 2010. A memorial service was held at noon on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner. The family received friends after the service. He is survived by his parents, Norman and Chantal Black; his paternal grandparents, Shirley and Everett Black of Cary; maternal grandparents, Frank Deppner of Maryland, and Therese Deppner of Virginia. He is also survived by his Aunt Lisa and Uncle Roy; cousins, Matthew, Paul and Jon; Aunt Charlotte and cousins, Eric and Jeremy and Jeremy’s family, April, Morgan and Corbin. Also Uncle Marc and cousin Gates. Alex had lots of interests. He was the go-to person for computers. He liked to play guitar. His dad liked everything they did together, even something as simple as washing the car. His family imagines he and Uncle Bruce are kayaking some river in heaven and thinking very fond thoughts of their loving relatives.
