Fire Department's proposed transition date will be discussed at next town council meeting

A group of five staff members from the Town of Garner, Wake County, Garner Volunteer Fire Rescue Department, Inc.; and Garner Emergency Medical Service and Rescue, Inc. met today to continue discussion of employee qualifications and experience and how that relates to a potential starting salary when the transition occurs. (Fire/Rescue transition)

This was a key piece of information as it relates to timing of the proposed transition.

Assistant Town Manager Rodney Dickerson said he expects to present a proposed starting date to the Council at the next Council Meeting on Tuesday. Specific personnel issues will not be discussed in open session.
