Donald Jack Wren, 84, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was born in Poteau, OK, and was the son of the late Roland and Gladys Pitchford Wren. After graduation from Oklahoma State University, he served in the U.S. Army, as a member of the Calvary during WWII in the CBI theatre where he earned four bronze stars. He was a charter member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church, a member of the Garner Civitan Club and American Legion Post # 232 in Garner. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19 at Aversboro Road Baptist Church with burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Ellie Lundy Wren, to whom he would have been married 55 years in August; daughters, Leslie Wren Beddingfield and husband, Rick of Raleigh and Donna Wren McPartland and husband, Mike of Cary; grandchildren, Amy B. Tracy and husband, Shawn of Clayton, Michael and Mark McPartland and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua and Taylor Tracy; sister, Nancy Campbell of Fort Smith, AR. brother, Roy Wren of Niceville, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Wren; brothers, Jim Wren and Charles Wren and step-father, Delmar Clem. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner.
