Smithfield – Joyce Catlette Pearce died May 30, 2012, surrounded by her children. Born February 7, 1932 in Apex, she grew up and lived most of her life in Wake County. Retiring from Southern Wake Hospital, she moved to Johnston County in 1986.

Surviving are her son Kenny Pearce and wife, Donna, of Raleigh; daughters Ann Futrell and Teresa Freeman of Garner, Elaine Langdon and husband, Danny, of Benson, and Lisa Corbett and husband, Bart, of Angier; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Jean Reeves of Virginia and sister-in-law Martha Catlette of Apex.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Pearce, her parents Herman and Lottie Holt Catlette, brother Charles “Buck” Catlette and sister Helen Davis.

Visitation was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Cremation Society of the Carolinas. The memorial service followed at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the cancer charity of your choice.
